1. What is the standard check-in /
check-out time?
As a general rule you can check-in from 1PM on the day of arrival and must check-out at 10AM on the day of departure.
Certain hostels may allow early check-in and late check-out. For exact times please contact the hostel directly.
2. Is the bed linen
included in the price?
Yes, bed linen is included but towels are not.
3. Is the sojurn tax
included in the price of accommodation?
While VAT is included in the price of accommodation, the sojourn tax is calculated separately because it is variable, depending on the season and age. Holders of the HI Euro Card pay 50% of the amount of the sojourn tax.
4. Do you offer
free Wi-Fi in hostels?
All our hostels offer free Wi-Fi access.
5. Do you offer
free parking for guests?
Free parking is available in front of our HI hostels in Zagreb, Zadar and Pula, while in other destinations we can recommend parking options in the immediate vicinity.
6. Are there age limits
for staying at hostels?
There are no age limits for staying at our hostels.
Persons under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult, or have a parent’s or guardian’s written consent to stay in the facility.
7. Are your hostels pet-friendly?
Although we love animals a lot, unfortunately for now pets are not allowed in hostels. We do hope to change that soon.
8. Are hostels good
for groups?
All of our hostels are suitable and equipped to accommodate groups.
For groups of 10 and more, we approve special discounts.
9. Do you offer
meals in your hostels?
Most of our hostels have their own restaurant where they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some hostels offer only breakfast service. In hostels where we do not have a kitchen or a restaurant, we can arrange meals in the facility itself, or in nearby restaurants.
Meals need to be ordered in advance.
10. Do hostels have a kitchen?
Our hostels do not have guest kitchens, so unfortunately it’s not possible for guests to prepare meals for themselves, but we are able to offer or arrange meals for them.
11. Do you offer additional services
and activities in your hostels?
Depending on a hostel, heating, air conditioning, ventilators, towels, hair dryers, iron, kettles, key cabinets, safes, social games etc can be used for free or at a small additional fee.
Some hostels also conference rooms, sports grounds and entertainment facilities (table tennis, table football, chess games …)
Also, it is possible to organize excursions or sightseeing tours, various sports, entertainment and recreational activities, transfers etc.
12. Do I need to be
a member to stay at HI Hostels?
Hostelling Internationl (HI) is an organization with thousands hostels around the world which offer budget accommodation to their members. To stay at our hostels, you need to become a member. Don’t worry, you can become one upon arrival at a hostel.
13. How can I
become a member and how much will it cost me?
Individual or group membership card (for 10+ people) can be made at CYHA (CROATIAN YOUTH HOSTEL ASSOCIATION) Main Office at Savska 5 (9AM -5PM), at any of our hostels or electronically via our website.
The price of a group card is 10,00 kn (1,33 eur) for children under 14 and 60,00 kn (7,96 eur) for persons older than 14 years. A group membership card costs 240,00 kn (31,85 eur).
Each of these cards is valid for one year from the date of issue.
Guests staying in a hostel for a shorter time can get the so-called “Welcome stamp” (daily membership). Such membership is valid for one day and the price is 10,00 kn (1,33 eur). Upon collecting six “welcome stamp”, the guest automatically gets an individual membership HI card valid for one year.
14. What are the benefits
of CYHA membership?
With a membership card, the guest can sleep on a budget in our hostels in TOP Croatian locations, as well as in all other Hostelling International hostels, even get a discount in chosen hostels.
Young people from 14 to 29 years old for the same price of 60,00 kn (7,96 eur) can create a combined hosted and European Youth Card ID card called HI.euro, which provides numerous discounts and benefits in selected partner organizations and facilities across Europe.

15. What are the payment options?
Payment is possible in cash (only in local currency), Visa, Maestro and MasterCard or electronic cards via bank transaction.
